Modern display production requires fast and accurate measurement technology to optimise takt times and deliver products that deliver a high  quality customer experience. Development and production teams require instrumentation with increased accuracy and measurement range that can keep pace with the advances in display technology.

The CS-3000 and CS-3000 HDR were developed based on the feedback of display producers, increasingly seeking measurement solutions that can be automated and provide increased accuracy on modern display technology which includes increased gamut such as High Dynamic Range (HDR) display.

The CS-3000 is extremely versatile, adapting well to vertical installation, with a focus lock function and a design that minimizes differences in measured values due to equipment orientation. The instrument has been designed with system integration and automation in mind and can easily be connected to a CCD adaptor (C-mount). Neutral Density filter lenses and calibration data are available for measuring up to 500,000 cd/m2 (1° measurement angle).

In addition to applications commonly measured by its predecessor (CS-2000/CS-2000A) such as TV and smartphone displays, the high-sensitivity, low-noise measurement design of the CS-3000 enables highspeed, high-precision measurements that use small measurement angles for applications such as micro displays.

Features

Features

1°, 0.2°, 0.1° powered measurement angle switching (CS-3000, CS-3000 HDR)

Measurement angle can be switched to the required measurement size and transitionned by the device electronics to support command-based operation within a fully automatic measurement system.

Reduced measurement time

Low-luminance sequence measurements such as display gamma measurement, low luminance uniformity measurement and display material I-V-L measurement are common but time consuming tasks with a traditional spectroradiometer taking sometimes hours to complete.

The CS-3000 models can measure significantly faster. For example, gamma measurement can be completed in no more than 25%* of the time needed with conventional equipment.

* Simulation conditions: 100 cd/m2 (white); 0.1 cd/m2 (black); 64 gradations; Wγ measurement

Intelligent Dark function

Best practice accuracy can be achieved by measuring both the light source and dark current (dark value) for each data point, using the dark value for compensation.

Dark value measurement is sometimes omitted to reduce measurement time, but the dark values may vary over time or in relation to other variables. Saving time but reducing measurement accuracy.

The CS-3000 Intelligent Dark function uses correction information from a sensor unit to correct for the variation, enabling faster measurement and preserving high accuracy without the need for dark value measurement.

CIE 170-2:2015 Colour Matching Functions

When measuring displays with wide color gamuts, the use of CIE 170-2:2015 color matching functions is expected to yield results that more closely reproduce the human visual experience.

Emission frequency detection/setting function>
(CS-3000, CS-3000 HDR)

The CS-3000 synchronises mismatches between measurement integration time and emission frequency that can lower repeatability. This function prevents these shifts with no increase in measurement time.
