Process calibration using the new measurement devices of Konica Minolta

Nieuwegein, Netherlands, May 2011

Konica Minolta Sensing, leading manufacturer of colour measurement instruments, recently introduced the world’s first colour measurement devices for the measurement of printed materials containing fluorescent whitening agents, using methodology based on the visual inspection used in the graphic arts industry as specified in ISO 13655:2009 M1.In addition they are also offering the software solution “catch all” as the ideal complementary software solution for all measuring tasks.

As a logical sequel to controlling offset prints according to ISO 12647-2 with “basICColor Catch all”, process calibration becomes possible using the spectrodensitometers FD-5 and FD-7 in combination with Calibri print control by MMS-Heidelberg. The calculated correction curves can be exported in several formats and thus used directly by industry leading CTP-workflows to standardize the plate setting. Thanks to its flexible operation modes the FD-7 is not only the ideal device for standalone quality checks. Using its fast scan measurements it is also an ideal partner for standardization solutions like Calibri print control. The rapid implementation of the new devices shows that the industry is willing to adapt to take advantage of Konica Minolta’s innovative technology.
